Our Proven Treatment Process

Our weed control and turf management services follow the proven lawn treatment process we've fine-tuned using years worth of combined turf care and grounds management experience. It serves as the foundation on which we build each client's custom treatment plan. We collect soil samples before your first treatment and send them off for a full lab analysis at no extra cost. Using the soil analysis results, we formulate a turf treatment plan tailored to your lawn's specific needs and execute it in multiple phases called rounds. The treatment cycle repeats each year and lawns are sampled periodically to re-evaluate the soil. Using this proven process our turf management experts will help your turf reach its full potential.

Bryce Kirkpatrick
Turf & Weed Control Division Director
BIO
Bryce got started in Middle Georgia landscaping at 14 years old. At first, it was simply a way for him to make money to buy himself a truck once he turned 16, but the work quickly became a passion for him. He got eager to learn more and gain new skills in the landscaping industry.

Bryce began to take advantage of opportunities which presented themselves, such as landscaping educational courses, training, and learning first-hand from experienced experts he worked with along the way. Bryce gained much of his turf care knowledge working at a golf course for a period of two years. He worked under Terry McNair at another landscaping company. When Terry started Real Turf Solutions, he gave Bryce the opportunity to come to work for him.

Today, Bryce manages Real Turf's weed control service division and now holds certifications in irrigation and outdoor lighting as well. He hopes to help the company grow in the industry and establish itself as a successful landscaping company for years to come.

Turf and Weed Control FAQ

Do you offer one-time applications?
We no longer offer one-time weed control applications. We require two applications at minimum because one-time applications are largely ineffective and you likely won't see any results. For more information, check out this post on our blog.

Aerations and fire ant treatments can be done as a one-time service.
Are the treatments Pet-Safe?
We provide pet-friendly weed control services! There are always some precautions which should be taken with any type of treatment though. While the products we use aren't dangerous to people or pets unless ingested in large quantities, we always advise you to keep children and pets off of the lawn for two hours after the application is made. Information regarding the products applied will be left for you following each treatment.
When will my yard be treated?
You will be sent an email notifying you when you have an upcoming service. This email will also provide instructions about how to prepare your yard, such as picking up hoses, etc. We try to give at least a 24 hour prior notice before each service.
How do you determine my lawn's needs?
When you join our weed control program, the first thing we do is pull soil samples from your yard. The results of these samples will help us determine what needs to be applied to make the conditions best suited for the type of turf you have.
Will weed control treatments harm my grass?
No, we use products which are safe to apply on your turf. They are engineered to only target the weeds in your lawn. Keep in mind that if your lawn is comprised of more weeds than actual grass, killing the weeds will mean your yard will be brown for a while until the grass grows in. If we believe this could be the case with your yard, we will let you know and discuss options that can help get the grass established so your lawn is greened-up as fast as possible. We do not spray anything which will harm the grass though. Some products may potentially cause a slight temporary discoloration to the turf when applied in large quantities, but the discoloration will clear up after a couple of days.
Is there anything I need to do before or after a treatment?
You will receive an email with instructions prior to your yard being treated. The main thing to do before an application is make sure that your yard is clear of objects such as chairs, hoses, etc. The spray technician will leave any necessary follow-up instructions, upon completing each application.

Check out our blog post about how to prepare for a lawn treatment application for the general guidelines on what you should do before any treatment.
When is my payment due?
Payment for your service should be made when you receive an invoice for your service. Please make sure that you have a valid email address on file to receive your invoices. You can also set up auto pay in your client account to make sure your payment is never late.
Can I sign up in the fall or winter months?
Yes! You can join our weed control program in the fall or winter. It's actually a great time to join because weed control efforts for spring start in the late wintertime.
Can I join in the Spring or summer months?
Yes, you can sign up for our weed control program any time of the year! You will pick up service with where we are in the current year's rounds at the time that you join the program. Be aware that joining in the summertime once the warm season weeds have already germinated will limit the results that you'll see that summer. This is because your yard won't have received the earlier pre-emergent weed control treatments for that year. We'll be limited to controlling weeds with post-emergent products.

However, you'll still be on schedule for controlling winter weeds come fall time. Then the next summer you will see more noticeable results with the summer weeds since we'll be able to make those pre-emerge applications.
What type of properties do you service?
We service all kinds of properties including residential lawns, commercial properties, sports facilities, and governmental properties. Basically anyone in Middle Georgia who has grass and wants it to look great!
What areas do you serve?
We provide turf management and weed control services in Warner Robins, Perry, Macon, Fort Valley, and all throughout Middle Georgia! Check our service area page for more information about the communities we serve.

Weed control services are also available in Milledgeville, Cordele, Warwick, and communities around the Lake Blackshear area. These cities are outside of our primary service area, but we have some large weed control contracts in the region of these communities already, so we are able to provide weed control services to additional clients in these locations.
When will aeration services start?
We typically start aeration service visits in May each year. It usually takes between 2-3 weeks to work through the full list of properties signed up to receive aeration services, so if you don't receive your aeration the first week of May, don't worry, we haven't forgotten you.
Spring - Why is my lawn not out of dormancy and greened up yet?
There are many factors that effect when your grass will transition out of dormancy and turn green. We explain these factors in greater detail in our blog article about why your lawn may not be greening up yet.

Just because the daytime temperature gets into the 70s for a day doesn't mean your grass is going to turn green yet. It's the nighttime temperatures which really impact turf growth and the dormancy process.

Also, your neighbor's yard might be greened-up long before yours or vise versa. This isn't anything to be concerned over. Remember that grass is a living thing, it's not on a set timer. To understand why your lawn hasn't greened up yet, read our blog post explaining it here.
Do you offer a military discount on weed control services?
Yes! With Warner Robins being a military community, we are proud to show appreciation to our men and women in uniform! Ask your sales rep about our military discount. (Valid military ID required)

What Our Clients Are Saying

We've just started using Real Turf for all of our lawn maintenance. Everyone has been very courteous, knowledgeable and responsive, not to mention they are quite reasonable. They even performed an extra service cutting up a few limbs from the storm and hauling away, even though that's not part of their normal service. I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for great service and total lawn care, including insect, weed control and fertilization.
